Dzus Fasteners

The most famous of all, 1/4 turn ejecting type fasteners from Dzus, designed for use on either curved or contoured surfaces where ejection of the fastener is essential to remove the panel being fastened. The spring loaded, ejecting design gives an instant signal that the fastener is unlocked, by literally popping out.

These EHF5 Dzus fasteners, the smaller of the two sizes available, have a flush head and are made of zinc passivate plated steel. They are 37mm (1.456") in length overall, 22.2mm wide (0.875") and 27mm distance between mounting rivet hole centres. The EHF5 Dzus fastener uses the S5 Dzus spring.

To select the correct fastener and spring combination, use the following method:

Add together the thicknesses of the panel(s) to be fastened and the spring clearance. Subtract the spring deflection (0.047" for the EHF5), then select the fastener with the nearest shaft length.
